Tony Zufelt
WELLINGTON-Our loving father and husband, Tony Zufelt, age 85, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at his home in Wellington.
He was born August 17, 1926 in Woodland, Utah to Elic Richard and Minnie Pearl Stevens Zufelt.
Tony married Delores Hackford, July 22, 1944; she passed away on July 19, 1992. Later married Vona Simpson Peters on December 3, 1994.
Tony was well known in the Uintah Basin for his generosity and his love for his God Jehovah. He was an active member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses where he was instrumental in helping establish the congregation in Roosevelt. For the past fifteen years he’s been a full time Elder. Tony was always willing to help anyone in need. He was known for his excellent work ethic and as a hard worker.
Survived by his wife, Vona Zufelt, Wellington; fives sons and one daughter, Ken (Rose) Zufelt, Vernal, Wayne Zufelt, Theron (Trisha) Zufelt, Ray (Pat) Zufelt, all of Roosevelt, Richard (Jean) Zufelt, Vernal; Toni (Mike) Baker, Roosevelt; step-children, Bobby (Jeanie) Peters, Canon City, CO, Opal (Mike) Myers, Wellington, Rita (Orville) Douglas, Edith (Nate) Dutton, both of Parachute, CO, Seth (Linda) Peters, Craig, CO; 36 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren and 23 step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial service, Wednesday, November 2, 2011, 11:00 a.m., Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (168 South 200 West) Roosevelt, Utah. Family will receive friends at the Kingdom Hall Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Immediately following the services a luncheon will follow at The Barn Reception Center, (3939 East Highway 40) in Ballard.
